• "As a patient of Dr. Antico I could not be happier with my experience or the results I have seen. When I first came to the office I had chronic back pain, was overweight, pre-diabetic, had high cholesterol and had already had heart surgery. I was inactive and always had pain. For me, I knew the key was to get back in shape but it seemed impossible. I called Dr Antico and spoke to him before I came to the office. I told him about my assortment of ailments. I was concerned that his approach with the focus of "helping active people stay active" would not work for someone who wanted to be active again. I felt relief immediately. I had a rib articulation and after fifteen years of dealing with it I was finally free of pain. I started working out with Wanda one of the trainers in the office and I am now in the best shape I have been in twenty years. I have lost more than fifty pounds, and no longer have any health issues. I set a goal to get under 200-lbs by year end and achieved that way ahead of schedule. For me it was a Christmas miracle.

When I sat down with Dr Antico back in August to discuss my treatment, he laid out a path for me and it was up to me to take it. However every step of the way, he or someone from his staff was there to help me or give me guidance. I always had the support of the entire office. Once my back was fixed, I was able to concentrate on getting back into shape. The training sessions with Wanda have been grueling but she has kept me motivated and help me set goals that I can work towards. My next goal is a 5k run and there is no doubt in my mind I will do it. In the beginning I thought she was crazy suggesting some of these "advanced" exercises, but I always managed to make it through. Now when she shows me something new, I can smile because although it looks tough I know that it means I am getting stronger.

• "I have so much to say, it is hard to know where to begin. It began when I saw an advertisement in the Columbia Flyer paper a few months ago. Now I have seen advertisements for chiropractors before but for some reason I did not pay them any mind. When I saw your advertisement, one part of me said call the number, while another part of me said they will probably tell me they can't help me. I am a 62 year old female who has had three back surgeries resulting in instrumentation being inserted. My condition is further complicated by arthritis. As a result I have very limited flexibility and movement and much pain. After debating with myself I made the call and thus began the pleasantries. My call was answered by a person with a nice and caring voice who listened very patiently while I explained my physical condition and insurance status. The lady, whom I later found to be named Carol, explained that Dr. Antico was not available at the moment but she would have him contact me later. I figured okay she was very nice to listen, but I probably will not hear anything else from them. I was wrong because within a half hour after my conversation with Carol I received a call from Dr. Antico who also possessed a voice of caring and an ear for listening. After listening to me explain my situation he asked me to come in for further evaluation. I went to his office on my appointed day and we further discussed my codition. Dr. Antico was quite honest with me and explained very thoroughly about what he could do under the circumstances, taking into consideration the condition of my back. I also had my first service that day at which time I met with another caring and professional staff member, Tiffany, who assisted with my course of treatment and showed me exercises that proved very beneficial in helping me with my condition. Over a course of four months Dr. Antico continued to work with me and try several types of treatments and I began to see remarkable improvement in my flexibility and movement. During the time I was going to Dr. Antico for my back I was also diagnosed by a neurologist as having pinched nerves in my left arm along with carpal tunnel and suggested that I have surgery. When I was telling Dr. Antico about that he tried some treatments on my arm which provided me with temporary relief as I pondered over whether I would get the surgery or not. That was just another demonstration of the care and concern he has for his patients. I received treatments over a four month period until my back condition took a change medically and I was unable to continue. I miss the care, concern and camaraderie I got from the Howard County Chiropractic Spine and Sports Rehabilitation staff and would highly recommend their service to anyone. It is wonderful when you can enjoy going to a medical facility because you have complete confidence in the doctor and staff and are treated like a member of a family.
